International Interpretive Eco Guide (IIEG)
The International Interpretive Eco Guide course (IIEG) is co-developed by the Interpretive Guides Association, Voshaar Outdoor Education and MOYO Training Foundation. It’s aim is to educate new and existing nature & wilderness guides in the area of interpretive guiding skills, hospitality and nature positive tourism.
In order to receive the IIEG certificate, participants need to have passed all modules of Part A and Part B of the course.
With this course, participants are certified hiking & nature guides that can guide in the Mountain national parks Banff, Jasper, Yoho and Kootenay in Canada and in most European countries.
Note: each European country has their own guiding standards and before guiding in these countries, national/regional rules around nature guiding must be checked.
THE ONLINE LEARNING MODULES
1. IGA INTERPRETIVE COURSE
Course Costs: €316 or CAD 369 (plus IGA membership CAD 89)

Can also be taken in the field with Voshaar Outdoor
2. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE PREP @ HOME
Includes 2023 course and 3 x 2 days practical training.
Cost course : € 425,-
3. NATURE POSITIVE TOURISM ONLINE
3 x 2 hours webinar sessions incl. assessment with MOYO Training Foundation:
Cost April 2024 course : €185 ex VAT
THE PRACTICAL TRAINING MODULES
1. MEDICAL FIRST AID
2 days field with Voshaar Outdoor.
If you have already passed or have done an equivalent course, then you do not need to pass this course.

3. NATURE POSITIVE TOURISM FIELD TRAINING
5 day field training with MOYO Training Foundation: in September 2023 in Italy: Cost June 2024 course : €1990 ex VAT including all accommodation/food/internal transfers.
2. TRIP PLANNING & GROUP MANAGEMENT
2 days field with Voshaar Outdoor
Course Cost: € 250,- per person sharing, ex VAT, FOOD & ACC.
IGA Equivalent for those in Canada:
Cost Course: CAD 396,- per person
4. FIELD TRAINING OF CHOICE, NATURE & WILDLIFE
5 day field with Voshaar Outdoor Education in France, Poland or Canada.
Course Cost €375,- per person ex VAT, and excluding accommodation, food, travel, insurance & drinks.
IIEG COURSE REGISTRATION
You can sign up for the full IIEG course at a discounted rate: €3390 ex VAT for European residents or €3231 ex VAT for Canadians. You pay for this course in full at MOYO Training Foundation, which will keep track of your progress.
You can also decide to take one module at a time. The total price will then be higher and you sign up for the different modules at the different organisations.
In both cases you will receive a certificate upon completion.
This course has been designed to provide you with both the learnings and tools to take your guiding profession or business and personal growth forward in a way that brings you closer to nature, and allows you to see the mutually beneficial opportunity for both nature and people. This is a journey and it is filled with unique experiences, learnings and shared ideas.
